The design and selection of roller seals and the selection of roller models

Design and selection of seals

In the structure of the bearing system, the sealing structure of the bearing is an important factor that cannot be ignored that affects the service life and running resistance of the roller. Because the seal is not good, the bearing is prone to failure40. The performance of the supporting sealing structure has a great impact on the service life of the roller. And the sealing is also to protect against external dust, dust, water

In general machinery, there are three main ways of sealing structure of bearing:

(1) labyrinth seal, which has low running resistance and good dustproof performance, but poor waterproof performance and slightly worse sealing effect. At the same time, when the labyrinth sealed roller works at low temperature, its rotational resistance is doubled compared with that at room temperature.

Therefore, we must pay attention to the use of low temperature areas:

(2) Contact seal, compared with non-contact seal, its sealing effect is much more ideal, but the running resistance of this red sealing method is large, and it is generally used for the situation that the rotation speed is not too high and the running resistance is not too large

(3) Combined seal, this lubrication method combines the advantages of the previous two types, and is a mixed lubrication method that is used more in the process of use.

Model selection of idlers

The selection of the roller model is related to the following factors: the size and characteristics of the load, the width and speed of the conveyor belt, the conditions of use, the working system of the conveyor, the nature of the material to be transported, the predetermined bearing life, the maintenance system, etc., the use of the roller should not only ensure the strength, but also the weight should be as small as possible. The rollers used in our country are usually D89mm shells with roller diameters below 800mm, and D108mm roller shells with a width of more than 1000mm. Often, a large diameter carrier is chosen to reduce the rotational speed on the one hand and extend the service life of the roller on the other.
