Processing process requirements for idlers

Idler processing mainly includes the process requirements of two parts: idler body and idler shaft.

(1) Roller body processing

In practice, machine tool blanking, lathe flat end face, chamfering, turning stops, etc. are all traditional processing methods. There are many shortcomings in these processing methods, such as clamping at both ends in two times, it is difficult to ensure the coaxiality of two turning, and the flexibility of roller rotation is poor, which will affect the service life of the roller.

Boring: The machine tool applied in this operation is a steel pipe double-head automatic drilling machine tool, this machine tool is a special equipment for automation, it can process the two ends of the roller pipe of the belt conveyor, and can be processed at the same time, and the processing of the mouth at both ends can be completed at the same time, and the processing of various types of roller pipe mouths of cast iron or stamping bearing seats at home and abroad can also be processed by the machine tool. The advantages of its processing are: high body processing accuracy, fast speed, one-time clamping, and simultaneous processing of both ends of the mouth to ensure coaxiality.

Welding: between the roller body and the stamping bearing seat to be completed by welding, in this paper the use of double-head CO2 gas shielded automatic welding machine, high degree of automation and can be processed at the same time, not only to ensure the coaxiality, improve the welding quality, but also reduce the labor intensity.

(2) Idler shaft processing

The machining of the idler shaft adopts double center fine turning or rough turning, and then after double center grinding, the advantage of this processing method is: to ensure the requirements of coaxiality and the finish requirements of the fit at the mounted bearing.
