Production line balance analysis and design

By improving the efficiency and productivity of the production logistics system, we can obtain greater benefits on the premise of reducing the production cost. Although the output of the roller can be increased by increasing the labor force and purchasing new equipment, the production capacity of the existing roller production line has not been released to the maximum extent, and the operation efficiency of the main logistics system of the entire roller production line is low.

The "takt" of a production process is the time between two successive completion of the same product (or two servings). In other words, the average time it takes to complete a product. Cycle time is usually simply used to define the unit output time of a specific process or step in a process. If the product is made in batches, the cycle time is the interval between two batches of products. In process design, if a process is given the output that must be produced every day, the first thing that needs to be considered is the tempo of the process.

The process or link with the slowest cycle time in a production process is usually referred to as the "bottleneck". Bottlenecks in the production process not only limit the overall output speed of one process, but also affect the production capacity of other links. More broadly, the so-called bottleneck refers to the various factors that limit the output of the entire process, such as: raw materials cannot be in place in time, information flow is blocked, manpower is insufficient, equipment failure, etc. Bottlenecks can also "drift" depending on the product produced or the manpower or equipment used in a specific period of time."Line balancing" refers to equalizing all processes of production and adjusting the work load so that the work time of each process is as close as possible.

The main purpose of the balance analysis of the roller production line is: to shorten the processing and manufacturing time of a single roller and improve the overall efficiency of the roller production line; Reasonable arrangement of raw materials, reduce the preparation time between processes, improve time utilization, and effectively reduce logistics costs; Reduce the work-in-progress inventory of rollers, improve the strain capacity of roller production in the workshop, etc. By analyzing the balance rate of the existing production line, the problems and deficiencies of the production line are clarified, so as to reasonably design the production line, maximize the production capacity of the production line as much as possible, and improve the efficiency.
